FEDERAL GRAND JURY RETURNS BANK ROBBERY CHARGES AGAINST NEW ORLEANS MAN
NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA - DORNELIUS BROWN, age 18, a resident of New Orleans, Louisiana, was charged in a two-count indictment by a Federal Grand Jury for bank robbery, announced U. S. Attorney Jim Letten.
The indictment charges that on March 7, 2008 , DORNELIUS BROWN robbed the Capital One Bank, located on 3540 St. Charles Avenue . According to the indictment, BROWN approached a teller and placed a demand note on the counter.
If convicted, DORNELIUS BROWN faces a maximum term of imprisonment of twenty years (20) years, a fine of $250,000.00 and three (3) years of supervised release following any term of imprisonment.
U. S. Attorney Letten reiterated that the indictment is merely a charge and that the guilt of the defendants must be proven beyond a reasonable doubt.
The case was investigated by the New Orleans Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U. S. Attorney Brian Capitelli.
