ANOTHER NEW ORLEANS MAN ARRESTED IN DRUG OVERDOSE CASENEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA -HENRY DEEB GABRIEL, III, age 23, a resident of New Orleans, Louisiana, was charged in a criminal complaint yesterday with distributing heroin to a person under 21 years of age, announced U. S. Attorney Jim Letten. The arrest follows an investigation which was initiated following the overdose death of a 16-year old female in January, 2008. According to the complaint, GABRIEL and others acquired heroin and other controlled substances for purposes of consumption by the 16-year old female and GABRIEL on January 4 and 5, 2008. If convicted, GABRIEL faces a maximum term of imprisonment of forty (40) years, a fine of $1,000,000. and six (6) years of supervised release following any term of imprisonment. U. S. Attorney Letten reiterated that a complaint is merely a charge and that the guilt of the defendant must be proven beyond a reasonable doubt. The case was investigated by Special Agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U. S. Attorneys Maurice Landrieu and William J. Quinlan, Jr. |
